Providing a heating source is an important part of Koho4Hopi. We get logs from areas in the forest that need to be cleared out. Some of these areas have been through a wildfire or have much over growth. With the help of the Forest Services we are able to obtain logs which get processed into firewood for the Hopi community.
Koho4Hopi believes in giving back to the earth that has provided us with wood to heat the homes. That being said we have planted 10,000+ trees in the Coconino forest. Along with the tree planters we organize volunteer tree planting events where the public get involved and give back to the forest in a way.
Our community is full of people who want to help and are in need of help. We work to connect the two and provide the firewood to those that need it. We also provide the community opportunities to cut and load firewood themselves.
